Roundtables with CEOs

Preview

From sitting in round table discussions with federal ministers, provincial power holders, mayors, police chiefs, ceos and those with power.. discussing issues impacting children… to speaking in rooms full of hundreds addressing the premier and asking ‘whys’ for issues impacting those that are the most vulnerable, I have gotten applauses and pats on the back one too many times, and I am so grateful for being able to advocate and be the voice for many, Yes I am so grateful for the recognition, the platform, the praises, but all of that doesn’t amount to number of kids we have lost over the years. The pat on the back is not enough, we need to stand together. These are real lives that our actions impact every single day. Many over the year any are doing so well… it took an army of people… from many attending top notch undergraduate and graduate programs… the phone calls of request for references and then the good news of acceptances, so so truly thankful for all of that, but it is so difficult to put aside stories of young ones who have been failed, who have been hurt one too many times to trust anyone let alone me when we say. ‘ kid, we’ve got you, we will get past this’. We need to do more, and it will take all of us to make that difference. Question is, are you willing to take on the responsibility?
