The WHY behind KVGOC

One of many special moments, receiving recognition for the work accomplished by the beautiful team at KidsPlay, presented by Janet Austin, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, at the Government House in Victoria. That was the last time my nanima was here, and I will always cherish this special memory of receiving the honour alongside the most resilient woman, my nanima. She raved about that moment back in her home, as I was told during my last visit to bid her goodbye. She always said to me in Punjabi, ‘kade haume nai aani chahidi, sun leya?’ translates to, ‘don't become egoistic or let ego get in the way, you hear me?’ Almost as if she knew what my path ahead was going to be.
